Being good with all members of the family, it is strongly suggested that they are supervised around smaller children. When away from the home, their dominate trait is always shown, thus taking their family guard duties seriously. Socialization is a must for this breed, unless they are being used as flock gaurds. The flock gaurdian is not for everyone. The Central Asian Shepherd is prone to hip and elbow health issues, but this is mainly found in the larger animals of this breed. This breed does best in a large yard, no small aprtment for this massive shepherd.
